Nutrition is so much more than the food we eat
It’s about the way we nurture our bodies through the relationships with ourselves and others, it’s about our happiness, thoughts and purpose. Food and exercise play a role but it shouldn't be the main definition of health.
Here is what we can do for you
I’m Ellen Sorlen, a licensed, fully qualified and insured nutritional therapist. My goal is to empower my clients to become the best version of themselves through dietary and lifestyle improvements.
I specialise in the following areas:
- Hormonal symptoms linked to the menstrual cycle
- Weight loss in a healthy and sustainable way
- Optimal health and disease prevention
I also support clients in a number of other areas so get in touch if you want to discuss how I can help you reach your health goals.
My journey into holistic wellness started in my early 20s when I began getting major acne breakouts followed by irregular periods and mood changes. I was spending my time and money on various treatments and products hoping it would heal my acne but nothing seemed to work.
It was only when I started looking at all aspects of my health, my mindset, my diet, lifestyle choices, my exercise routine and stress levels that I started noticing changes to not only my skin but to my overall health. It’s amazing how the body can and want to heal itself.
What is nutritional therapy?
When it comes to health, we are all unique and one size does not fit all.
Nutritional therapy is a holistic approach to health that focuses on addressing and understanding the root cause of a symptom or a health condition. It’s also about disease prevention and making the right choices today could prevent illness in the future.
Diet, lifestyle and mindset impact how we feel and any nutritional deficiencies can trigger and exacerbate certain symptoms and conditions.
By looking at all bodily systems, symptoms linked to e.g. gut health, metabolism, hormone imbalances and poor detoxification can be understood and specific support can be provided. This whole-body approach means the root cause of the symptom can be addressed in order reach optimal health.
Nutritional therapy is about providing the necessary tools, support and protocol to help you reach your health goals whilst allowing the body to heal itself. Working alongside a nutritional therapist means you are not on this journey alone.
A tailored, evidence-based plan will include dietary modifications, supplement suggestions, lifestyle recommendations and other strategies to support the body’s own ability to heal. It is so empowering to be in control over your health and to feel your best again.
